Digital Signage
The world is changing quickly in engaging clients, customers, members, employees and visitors. Paper and vinyl signs are too expensive, too static, take too long to prepare and are manpower-intensive to create and distribute. More importantly, they can't keep up with adds, changes and deletions.
Digital signage, whether using LCDs, plasma or rear projection engage the viewer, target their needs and invite participation as they draw the viewer in. In the data center/NOC, media walls give you real time information as to what is happening in the world, on your servers, at remote locations where you may have a video camera deployed -- literally anything that can be digitized and transmitted. And rather than having to gather around an individual monitor, it's on display and able to be seen by people from their desk.
The tools that let you decide what to display, where on the monitor/wall to display it and when and how the message changes, are web-based tools. You can designate authorized users to modify predefined areas so that the IT department can get that task off their desk -- and the users can change the message from their desk, regardless of where the digital sign is.
