DSView 3 Software

The Heart of IP Control For Every IP-Enabled Device In Your Data Center

DSView 3 extends the Avocent patented KVM over IP centralized management system with a unique benefit in the KVM industry — a hub and spoke architecture. This innovative system increases KVM switching manageability and security and gives data centers a fully redundant system with built-in backup/failover capabilities.

  • Selectable encryption modes ... match your security policy
    • Even a video encryption mode
  • The Hub is the central administrative piece
    • The Spoke architecture provides backup/failover capabilities
    • Allows you to maintain accurate user permission rights
    • Provides detailed event logs across multiple sites and user groups

The Avocent DS Series suite of GUI/Serial KVM Switches also includes specialized products. These are each discussed on separate pages:

Virtual media support furthers physical security by allowing administrators to remotely load software by mapping a local removable media or mass storage device to a remote server (requires DSRxx3x switches).

With DSView 3 management software lets you customize the interface based on location, operating system, department, application, or other custom categories. System Administrators can be at their desk, across the hall or anywhere in the world and configure, manage, upgrade and backup any device in their data center from a single interface.

DSView 3 Management Software puts the "Power in your hands" to ensure the smooth operation and optimal performance of your IT server environment, virtually putting you anywhere you need to be at anytime.

Related Avocent News

Avocent announced that in April 2006, they acquired LANDesk, a recognized leader in software for the centralized management and protection of IT assets.

Avocent also recently acquired Cyclades (March 2006), a leading provider of serial console management and power management solutions. With Avocent's existing strengths as a leading provider of IT infrastructure for the centralized management of enterprise data centers, branch offices and small to medium businesses, the LANDesk transaction will give us a unique combination of products, solutions and technology skills to best meet customers' IT infrastructure management and security needs.

It will permit Avocent, in a very real sense, to reinvent IT management — by offering always-on management and security solutions that put customers in control of all of the hardware and software assets that enable their businesses. DSView software is the single User Interface that pulls it all together!
